There is a convenience store across the street from my school. It’s actually quicker to walk there than to get in the car and drive, so I’ve been going over to get a soda and sometimes a soft pretzel. I went today and was greeted by the thumping stereo of one of the local radio stations on site to do a promotion.
I groaned because I don’t listen to this station because I don’t listen to what we used to call “rap crap”. (So clever, I know.) And, I had to walk by their table to get to the soda fountain. I grimaced and headed around them when one of the girls (and I mean girls – she had to still be a teenager) said to me, “Are you getting a soda?” I said, “Yes…” Then she said the magic words: “Would you like a free one?” Well, yes, I would! The catch? I had to let her take my picture using the soda fountain. Okay… ?
Then the other girl goes, “Do you come here a lot?” I said yes. So she rips off a bunch of coupons and hands them to me at the same time as I continue speaking, “I teach at the school across the street. We come over here all the time.” Jackpot! They gave me a bunch of coupons for a free Slurpee AND a huge bag of Peanut Chew candies (that they were supposed to be handing out to customers)! I was like, “Are you sure?” They said to give it to my students for Halloween!
Sweet!
Don’t give it to your kids!!! Consider it bonus pay.
LOL! I did have a bunch for lunch with my butter pretzel snaps.
I gave some to Fashionista because I think there could be 50 or more in there!
Peanut Chews are awesome , and easy to share, too! Sounds like you’re going to make a bunch of people happy for Halloween!
Yes, they were excited, especially after I told them who gave me the candy!
Happy Halloween!
Love it!
