The Swine Flu has made it to my room. Guess who it is? Yep, Asthmatic. That kid can’t catch a break.
And I am totally skeeved out. I Lysoled his desk and the others around him til they were soaked, and I redid the whole room even though I had done it before I left on Friday. Now in addition to an Outbreak suit, I want one of those HazMat showers to rinse me off before I leave the building.
Oink oink.
The guinea pigs are the source of H1N1. Swine=guinea pigs. Hmm?
Hey now, don’t blame the cavies!
Guinea Pigs are rodents, not porcine. Ever notice their heads are the same shape as a squirrel’s? (One reason I can’t run them over.)
Hey that could be a good idea for many schools – showers… instead of metal detectors… kill two birds with one stone kinda thing…
Anyone else saddened by the state of our kids these days?
Oh I love it – disinfect them every day before they come in!
I made them sanitize their hands before they were allowed in the room this morning. Half of them just put out their hands, but half asked why and it was so hard not to shout, “BECAUSE ASTHMATIC HAS THE SWINE FLU!!!”
On a different note, went to the allergist today for my shot, and he is not getting the Swine Flu vaccine. That was surprising, considering his patients are more prone to getting it.
I just saw a new story questioning whether the vaccine will actually work….yikes!
Oh, no! Do NOT even tell me that!!!
At least you guys have a shot at getting the vaccine.
In Alberta, our incompetent government announced that everyone would be able to get it, which caused huge Soviet Union-style line-ups at the four clinics that were offering it, and now they’ve run out of the vaccine altogether.
Brilliant, eh?
That’s insane!!! Are they getting any more in?
I just don’t understand what happened to it all. It was supposed to be ready the first week of October, then the middle of October. Then they found one dose would work instead of two, so really we should’ve had twice as much. Where did it all go? My allergist isn’t even getting it, and my family doctor said to call back next week. Thankfully the county is offering it for school children and teachers for free.
Actually, here in the Bahamas, we don’t have it at all. You know, because we are only a high priority if the US wants to go on vacation. We are depending on hand washing and good hygiene.
I still can’t believe I’m standing. I just slather Hand Sanitizer over my entire body. I’ve got about two kids getting sick a week. My biggest headache is that since we’re always testing, that means they’ve missed a test and have to make it up. You can see that I’ve got my priorities straight. LOL
We should call it Eau d’Hand Sanitizer.
I hear you with the test make-ups. At one point I had nine or ten names on the board for kids who owed tests, and we’re really not supposed to keep them in at recess. (And after that whole fiasco about not going outside to find a kid, I refuse.) So when are they supposed to make them up?
